Officials in Santa Monica are investigating the death of Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, as a suspected overdose. The 27-year-old model passed away at a rehabilitation facility on Sunday, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records cited by law enforcement.

Police confirmed that while an investigation is active, the exact cause of death has not yet been formally determined. Authorities added that preliminary findings show no indication of foul play surrounding the incident.

A representative for Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, Allie Jenkins, released a statement addressing the tragedy through the BBC's US partner CBS News. "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time," Jenkins stated on behalf of the family.
